More on Latent Defect

Courts, living away from the real world of insurance, may think that by simply stating a rule it can be carried out. They do not understand that when millions of homes are  insured, to conduct the examination contemplated before a risk is accepted would make the cost of the insurance prohibitive. Such an expert examination would exceed the annual premium.
