Asking Appropriate Questions

Every thorough and appropriate claims investigation in California— and in all states that recognize a right of rescission—must include verification of every question asked by the insurer of the insured in the application for insurance. In that regard the investigator should ask, without reference to the application itself, the questions asked on the application.
