Addressing the Witness
The interviewer must determine how to address the witness by analysis of the person to be interviewed. The interviewer should refer to the witness by his or her first name unless an advantage can be gained by addressing the witness as Mr., Ms., Mrs., Dr. or any other appropriate title.
