The Reaction of the Witness

How the witness is reacting to the interview—is extremely important. With experience, an alert interviewer can easily determine what effect his or her various approaches are having on the witness. If a conscientious interviewer has tried a great many approaches and sees that none of them is working, usually it is best to end the interview as soon as possible.
