The “You Remind Me of My Brother” Approach

If the interviewer can establish some common ground with the witness, he or she can use this to flatter the witness and play upon his or her vanity. The 50 year old female witness will be pleased to be compared with an interviewer’s 25 year old sister. The 50 year old man will be pleased to be compared with an interviewer’s 35 year old younger brother.
