Insurance 101 – Volume 45 – The Additional Insured Endorsement

The Additional Insured Endorsement

Additional insured (AI) endorsements to a CGL policy can, for the most part, be divided into two categories: manuscript and the Insurance Services Office. Manuscript endorsements are AI endorsements written for the needs of a specific insured or additional insured. Insurance Services Office endorsements are published to be used by many insurers for most, if not all, of its CGL insureds. The Insurance Services Office endorsements furnish coverage to the additional insured for liability ‘arising out of’ the named insured’s work, operations, or premises (or some variation on that theme).

The following video was adapted from my book, “Insurance Claims A Comprehensive Guide” Published by the National Underwriter Company and is available at the Zalma Insurance Claims Library.
