Insurance 101 – Chapter 9 – Volume 106 – Medical Information

Medical Information

Medical authorization should be obtained as soon as possible from the claimant and all other injured parties. Continuous follow-up on medical treatments received by the claimant and visits by the claimant to medical personnel are required. It is imperative to document the claimant’s first, and all subsequent, contact with any doctor, physician, therapist, hospital, or other health care provider. The adjuster should keep a running total of all medical bills and all contacts with medical personnel.
