Insurance 101 – Chapter 15 – Volume 88 – CPT Codes

CPT Codes

An investigator who works in the medical field must become familiar with CPT codes, what they mean, and when to be suspicious of them. For example, code 99215 is often used in accident cases for the examination of an auto accident victim complaining of neck and back pain. However,  unless there was an extreme possibility of death or serious further problems if not treated immediately, the code should not apply.
