Subrogating Against Arsonist
On occasion, an insurer faced with an arson claim will pay the insured for fear of a bad faith suit and then subrogate against the arsonist. This ploy does not always work and it is best to complete a thorough investigation and deny the claim to the insured involved in the arson.
